SpaceX has launched a mission to rescue two astronauts from the International Space Station, which will return after a year.
According to the American news agency ‘Associated Press‘, the SpaceX rocket was launched on Saturday to return the astronauts whose Boeing spacecraft returned to Earth due to security and safety concerns earlier this month.
According to NASA’s Nick Hague and Russia’s Alexander Gorbunov were sent into space to enable the return of two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Sunny Williams, from the space station.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) replaces the space station crew every six months, the newly launched flight, with two empty seats reserved for Wilmore and Williams, will not be able to return until late February.
According to officials, there was no way to bring back in the earth, the two astronauts without disrupting other scheduled missions.
According to official reports, by the time the pair returns from space, they will have spent more than eight months in space mission.
It should be noted that when the two astronauts went for their first space flight in June this year, they expected to spend only a week in space mission.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) eventually decided that a helium leak (chemical element) in the Boeing Starliner had affected the mission. The space agency removed two astronauts from the mission to make room for Wilmore and Williams.
According to NASA Deputy Manager Deanna Contella, Wilmore and Williams watched the rocket lift off via a link sent to the space station, followed by the chant of “Go Dragon.”
Note that Williams was promoted to commander of the space station, which will soon return to its normal number of seven.
Four astronauts who have been there since March will be able to depart in their SpaceX capsule after Haig and Gorbunov arrive in space on Sunday, whose return was delayed by a month due to a malfunction in the Starliner.
According to Hague before the flight that change in human spaceflight is a constant process.
He further said that there is always something going on in space and maybe this time there is something more visible to the public.
