Chinese Giant BYD and Master Changan Company set up Electric Vehicles Plant in Karachi Pakistan

Chinese giant BYD electric vehicle on Saturday announced plans to open an electric car production plant in Karachi Pakistan, where it will also start selling three models through a partnership with Mega Motors.
Chinese Electric Vehicle and Charging Infrastructure
BYD electric vehicle (EV) is about to bring the first major new electric vehicle (NEV) to the Pakistani market, but the country too much lacks charging infrastructure for these cars.
Our entry into the Pakistani market is not just about bringing modern electric vehicles to consumers, It’s about advancing a broader vision of friendly environmental responsibility and new technological innovation, said Liu Zeliang, general manager of BYD Asia Pacific.
According to BYD also plans to open three “flagship stores and experience centers” in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad main city of Pakistan.
According to company launch event in Lahore that it plans to start selling two new SUV models and a sedan from the fourth quarter of 2024.
Mega Motors is a unit of Pakistan’s largest private utility company Hub Powers Limited, also known as Hubco.
“We will set up Pakistan’s first New Energy Vehicle (NEV) assembly plant Karachi Pakistan…which will manufacture BYD’s latest technology smart vehicles,” said Hubco Chief Executive Kamran Kamal.
Habco Chief Executive Kamran Kamal called the deal a “historic investment“.
According to Kamran Kamal the new plant will start operating in 2026, told Reuters. Habco will set up friendly and innovative fast charging stations in all major cities, motorways and highways to expand Pakistan’s charging infrastructure.
